An ECG machine measures the electrical signals generated by the heart as it contracts. Inside the ECG machine is a set of electrodes placed on the skin of a patient. As the heart beats, these electrodes detect the changes in electrical potential associated with each beat. The waves produced by these changes are recorded by the ECG machine and displayed on its display screen.

The component responsible for recording the electric signals is called the amplifier. It is a linear circuit that amplifies the signal coming from the electrodes. The amplifier converts the low-amplitude signal into a high-amplitude one and is modulated by a filter that filters out the noise and provides clarity to the signal. This amplified signal is then sent to the analog-to-digital converter. This converter turns the analog signal into a digital format so it can be stored in a computer or other device.

The ECG machine also includes a set of leads that connect the electrodes placed on the patient’s body to the machine. The output of the ECG machine is displayed on the display screen using these leads. The display screen has graphical representations of the different waveforms produced by the heart - the P wave, QRS complex, and T wave. The ECG machine helps the doctor identify any irregularities in the cardiac cycle.

Having a basic understanding of an ECG machine circuit diagram can be beneficial when trying to diagnose a patient’s heart condition. Knowing how the ECG machine works and what components are essential for it to work properly can help you pinpoint any issues and ensure the best possible diagnosis.
