Soft start or soft-start circuit is an electronic device used to reduce stress and wear on electrical components when an electrical motor is first started. The microcontroller monitors the speed of the motor and sends signals to the power supply. The power supply adjusts the voltage of the motor, which in turn controls the amount of current flowing through the motor. Finally, the relay circuit turns the motor on and off as needed.

There are also a number of other components that may be included in a soft-start circuit, depending on what the motor is being used for. For example, some motor controllers include a brake circuit to ensure that the motor stops running when it should. There may also be a fan to help cool the motor during startup and shutdown. Finally, the circuit may also include a data logger to track its performance over time.

Soft start circuits are becoming increasingly popular in a variety of industries, as they reduce the risk of damage to motors, improve their efficiency, and save energy in the process. They are relatively easy to install and can be customized to specific needs, making them a great option for both commercial and home applications.
