Knight Rider Circuit Diagram - The Science Behind KITT's Lights

If you were a fan of the 80s classic hit show Knight Rider, chances are you remember the iconic talking car and its flashy lights. KITT was no ordinary car, it was an artificially intelligent vehicle made to fight crime and help keep the citizens safe. The key to KITT’s lights was in the timing of the circuit. Adjusting the resistance of the components allowed for different speeds and patterns of blinking. For example, when KITT was in pursuit mode, the lights would flash at a medium speed but when it was in danger, the speed of the flashes would increase dramatically.

The Knight Rider circuit diagram is an impressive piece of engineering. While it may seem complex, the combination of simple electrical components made it possible to create a realistic light effect with relative ease. It goes to show that even decades later, KITT still has a place in the minds and hearts of fans.
