At its core, the torch relies on a combination of electricity and gas to produce light. The basic function is simple: An electric current passes through a gas-filled chamber, which creates a bright light. The typical torch circuit diagram starts with a battery, which provides the power to the other elements. These components include a valve to regulate the flow of gas, a temperature sensor to ensure the fuel doesn’t get too hot, and a spark igniter, which is usually powered by a 9-volt battery. Once all these components are in place, the torch is ready to go.
